Pine Street Series

The Pine Street Series explores my own positionality (Pine Street, Philadelphia) to explore spaces that are referentialto me, with a strategy of balancing the abstract geometry of Philadelphia’s late 19th century row housing and the relational memories here materialized by the the sensorial explosion of colors and shapes beyond the buildings.

The main project departs from a isometric prespective of my own house, around which the composition is arranged. Paintings on paper (watercolor) or canvas (acrylic) in which details from the experience at the site are depicted as elements that manifest sensorial impressions. The geometry of the building is still the main feature of the painting, but it occurs in a field of color and details that translate the sensorial experience into the drawing.
